Snorkeling in the Gilis

The first full day we were in Lombok, we went snorkeling off the Gili Islands.  The islands are very close to Lombok, but you can also get there from Bali by a fast boat in a couple of hours.  The biggest island, Gili Tarwangan, is a popular tourist and party spot.  We just walked around Gili T and then snorkeled off of Gili Mino and Gili Air.

Zachary was a little worried about sharks in the water.  After about 15 minutes, though, he was hooked and didn't want to get out!

Uncle Jim snuck in a photo bomb!

The term Glass Bottom Boat means different things all across the world.  From the outside, it sounds pretty impressive!!

In Indo, the reality is that they've just cut a hole in the bottom of the boat and stuck in some reinforced glass.  The effect is the same, though.  Jacob was not too keen on snorkeling, so he just watched us and the fish through the glass.

Some shots of the group enjoying the day.

Here are some more shots of the snorkeling.  Lots of fish!!
